Accommodations in Noronha


Your search for Hotels in Noronha will be in vain, here one lives in so-called Pousadas (Pensions). Even though there are some places that call themselves hotel, the Dolphin Hotel and the Hotel de Transito, I can, however, not tell the differences to the Pousadas.
Many of the Inhabitants have enlarged the numbers of rooms in their House for Guest Rooms, when the island became touristic in the 90ies. I fully agree with the author of noronha.com.br "...Is very important know the conditions of the majority of the pousadas. The main characteristic is the simplicity....". That doesn't imply that they are cheap, though. I don't know of any Pousada that takes less than R$ 100 per night and prices in Noronha are per person, not per room. The upper bound is over 1.500 R$. These accommodations offer, naturally, more luxury.

There is no lack of available rooms in noronha. In addition to the 119 Pousadas listed below, there may be several more that are not listed in the phone book or that are not registered. These are particular accommodations of islanders, witch build in there houses 1, 2 or 3 guestrooms. These particular accommodations sometimes are better located and also cheaper than the ofical Pousadas.

Take care by booking at travel agencies or internet portals. They often charge you over the price. If you already choose an accommodation by your agency or via Internet, but not yet booked, compare the price. Usually I am able in place to negotiate a cheaper charge. Please contact me stating number of persons and required rooms and Check-in/Check-out date under info@fernando-de-noronha.info.

In case you choose one of the Pousadas below and you are not capable of speaking Portuguese, these numbers won't be of any use to you. Hardly anywhere in Brazil, English is spoken in a understandable way. I'm currently collecting a list of e-mail addresses of the pousadas. In case you want to book a room but have difficulties with the language, you may contact me via E-Mail and I or my wife will book the room for you.

Currently I am busy with - apart from designing this website - taking pictures of the pousadas with the best value for money and publishing them online. This may take a while as clocks going slower and this is particularly true for Noronha. Apart from that I need some help here. I'm already speaking to Tourists about the Pousadas, Prices and Quality. Yet, Brazilian Tourists have other priorities. Sometimes a TV is more important than open view to the sea. If you have already visited Noronha before, I would be greatful about an email with information about the place you have been staying at. I will collect the information and make it available online.
